The Full Story

90-98 Whitefoord is a rezoning proposal by SLR Investments that is seeking to take almost 1 acre of land at the corner of Whitefoord Ave & Finley St. in the Edgewood Neighborhood from r5 (Single Family/Duplex) to MRMU (Multi-Unit “Missing Middle”  Housing up to 12 units). By doing so SLR is hoping to partner with the Neighbors of Edgewood & NPU-O to rethink what’s possible & create an incredible collection of new homes. Inspired by 1930’s & 1940’s Craftsman Era architecture (complete with broad front porches & inviting front yards) 90-98 Whitefoord can become the most innovative, non-subsidized, affordable & accessible housing development the City of Atlanta has seen in recent history. 

Curating Four, context sensitive, 12 unit buildings, SLR plans to make 25% of the total units built available at 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI).  This inspiring commitment ensures up to 12 units of NEW housing will be made available for Neighbors in Edgewood who make less than $36,000 per year. This is NEW housing for teachers, police and firefighters, the restaurant & retail workers of Edgewood, recent college graduates, seniors, & others. Other improvements promised by SLR to the redevelopment of this site with the approval of the MRMU Zoning designation include ample off street parking, open common space amenities, bike parking, Craftsman Inspired Architectural Details, & an almost 5x increase in additional Tree Canopy creating a long term park-like atmosphere on the site.
